6. I think the shark never appeared again in his dreams, because once Diego let go of all his emotions, the jail he had made for himself has broken, therefore the shark left as well.

ReplyDeleteI think it was a good idea for Diego to do the guided visualization because he needed to say goodbye to Mac in one way or another and have a chance to tell him how much of a bad person he was. The visualization gave him the chance to do that.

ReplyDeleteI think that Diego's mom couldn't talk about his rape was because she didn't want her perfect image of the family to be all a fake. She wanted to believe that Mac came for a reason to sweep her away from all her problems from her own hell. And she didn't want Diego to take that away from her, she would rather have the perfect family image than to accept how Diego feels.

ReplyDeleteWhen Vidas told Diego you are a free man I think he implied two different things. First was the obvious one where he no longer has probation. But the second one was more metaphorically where he meant that you no longer have the memories of Mac suppressing you.

When Vidas tells Diego "you're a free man" i think it meant he's free emotionally and free physically. Physically because he doesn't have probation anymore and emotionally because i remember at the beginning Vidas told him he was making a jail for himself and after the visual or daydream everything was released and he opens up to people...
